Paper of the month – March 2026📑
We are pleased to present this month’s interesting paper, “Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Incidence, Prevalence, and Progression in a Large Population-Based Cohort of Older Adults” authored by:
Clara Constantinescu, Doerthe Ziegelitz, Carsten Wikkelsø, Silke Kern, Daniel Jaraj, Eric Westman, Ingmar Skoog and Mats Tullberg
This is a robust and scientifically rigorous publication. It builds upon a well-characterized longitudinal cohort and offers highly valuable epidemiological and clinical insights into the natural history and development of iNPH. Long-term, population-based data of this quality are uncommon in our field, and the methodological strength of the study makes its conclusions particularly meaningful for both clinical practice and future research. Moreover, the paper advances our understanding of disease incidence and progression, with direct implications for early detection, monitoring, and management strategies.
