The Hydrocephalus Society is pleased to announce two key opportunities designed to support early-career professionals and advance research in hydrocephalus and CSF disorders. Both programmes share a common application deadline of 20 September 2026 – don’t miss your chance to apply.

Sponsored Observerships Programme
Gain first-hand clinical exposure at leading international centers and expand your professional experience.
- Opportunity to visit specialized hydrocephalus treatment centers worldwide
- Observe operations, procedures, and clinical practices by expert teams
- Open to young scientists with clinical or non-clinical backgrounds (e.g., residents, PhD students, post-docs)
- Duration: 5 working days (7 days total including travel)
- Funding: up to €2,000 for travel and accommodation (reimbursed upon receipt submission)
- Eligibility:
Must have trainee status (resident, graduate student, post-doc or equivalent)
Must be a Hydrocephalus Society member

Support your research and contribute to advancing knowledge in the field.
- €6,000 seed funding for innovative research projects
- Open to projects in key thematic areas, including:
Adult Hydrocephalus
Congenital & Pediatric Hydrocephalus
Experimental Hydrocephalus
Intracranial Pressure
Neuroimaging
Technical Advances in Treatment & Diagnostics
Movement Disorders & Hydrocephalus - Eligibility:
Must be a Hydrocephalus Society member
Must be part of an established research group/institution
Must demonstrate a proven research track record - Additional benefit:
Invitation to present at Hydrocephalus 2028 World Congress (Rome)
Travel & accommodation support up to €1,000
