They demonstrated a longer time before permanent shunt placement, as well as lower rates of complex multiloculated hydrocephalus and reduced need for multiple catheter system, compared with patients who did not undergo NEL.Although many patients still required ventriculoperitoneal shunts (VP shunt), NEL appears to be a promising minimally invasive strategy in this fragile population.
