Paper of the month – September 2025📑

We are pleased to present this month’s interesting paper, “A Randomized Trial of Shunting for Idiopathic Normal-Pressure Hydrocephalus” authored by:
Mark G. Luciano, Michael A. Williams, Mark G. Hamilton, Heather L. Katzen, Nickolas A. Dasher, Abhay Moghekar, Jun Hua.
Idiopathic normal-pressure hydrocephalus is a neurologic disorder characterized by impaired gait, balance, cognition, and bladder control in older adults. The disorder is treated with shunt surgery, but the effectiveness of shunting is unclear.

The Hydrocephalus 2026 World Congress is on the way, and we couldn’t be more excited!
After the amazing success in Toulouse with 41 countries and 404 participants, we’re now gearing up for 31 July – 3 August 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Hydrocephalus 2026 will address the full range of hydrocephalus and CSF disorders across all ages. We are preparing a stimulating program with engaging sessions that explore both cutting-edge and debated topics.
Professionals from neurosurgery, neurology, pediatrics, radiology, geriatrics, psychiatry, and related fields, including basic scientists, engineers, nurses, therapists, technicians, neuropsychologists, and patient advocates, are invited to join us. This congress promises to be a dynamic platform for learning, networking, and building lasting partnerships.
